December 29th York Regional Police hosted 2 hours of free skating at the Georgina Ice Palace. It was a fun afternoon including: free skating - hot choc. - popcorn and YRP give aways like pens, pencils, key chaines, and more! Thank You to York Regional Police gor a great afternoon!

Free skate with York Regional Police!
The York Regional Police is hosting a Free community skate at the Georgina Ice Palace on
December 29, 2009 from 12noon – 2 pm.
It will be a fun afternoon with free pop corn and hot chocolate.
We will have Police officers on the ice as well as the YRP mascots.
We hope to see you all there !
As with all our events – a food donation is always accepted and appreciated.
All food collected will go to the Georgina food pantry

Hockey Stick Chritmas Cookies
Hockey Stick Cookies
Ingredients
1 package (18 ounces) refrigerated sugar cookie dough
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
24 miniature (3/4-inch) chocolate-covered mint candies
Prepared icings
Preparation
1.Lightly grease cookie sheets. Let dough stand at room temperature about 15 minutes.
2.Combine dough and flour in large bowl; knead until well blended. Divide dough into 24 pieces. Shape each piece into 6-inch-long rope. Place ropes on prepared cookie sheets; bend ropes about 1-3/4 inches from ends to form hockey stick shapes. Freeze about 10 minutes.
3.Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. While cookies are still hot, place one mint on bottom part of each cookie for puck. Cool completely on cookie sheets.
4.Decorate with icings as desired.
